Kooc Crags now have improved trail access

Volunteers re-establish an easier and more sustainable trail above Pit Stop

The third trail day of the season took place at Kooc Crags on Koocanusa’s west side. On August 8th, three volunteers and three board members cut brush, built steps and dug trail on an existing access route to the crags above Pit Stop.

The trail begins 100 yards south of Pit Stop, and heads up past Forgotten Face to traverse the bases of Great White Wall and The Ruins. While slightly longer and more circuitous, it is much easier to walk and is considerably safer than the old fall-line trail.

The next trail day is scheduled for September 12th, where volunteers will improve access to the crags along the base of Lakeside Wall. Please check out the projects page for more info!
