The Northwest Montana Climbers’ Coalition

Strengthening our climbing community through outreach, education, and conservation of our local climbing areas.

About the Coalition

From replacing anchors to building trail, hosting events and protecting access, the NWMTCC (aka Stewards of the Rock) work to keep the climbing areas you love open, accessible and as safe as possible. Our community of volunteers and contributors help make this mission possible.

We welcome any contribution you are able to make, whether physically or financially. Please consider signing up for our mailing list and/or an upcoming event to help support your local climbers’ coalition!

Anchor Replacement

When you clip the chains, you want to know what you’re clipping is reasonably safe. Every year we work on replacing older top anchors with stainless bolts & hangers.

Trail Work

Sometimes one of the hardest parts of a climb is finding the base. Trail development and restoration has become a focal point of our mission in the last couple of years.

Community Involvement

From film showings to parties to pint nights, we are always looking for ways to bring the climbing community together.

Protecting Access

The coalition actively engages land managers to strike a balance between wildlife protection, right-of-way and general access issues.

    We Need Your Help!

With a big donation from the American Safe Climbing Association(ASCA) we have lots of bolts to replace old rusty hardware.  We rely on you, the community, to help make our crags safer by being our eyes and ears to let us know where potentially dangerous bolts and hardware are located.  Please use this form to help us prioritze our bolt replacement efforts.
